PA students will ‘Cut It for a Cause’
The Sixth Annual “Cut It For a Cause” event will take place during Winter Carnival on Thursday, Feb. 20 in the gym at 9:15 a.m.
Student will volunteer to donate a minimum of eight-inches of their hair to the Children With Hair Loss, a non-profit organization that provides human hair replacement to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss.
In order to donate, the hair must be clean and healthy, as well as not bleached. Professional hairdressers will be in attendance at the Winter Carnival event to measure and tidy up the hair once it is cut. Donors may also choice a friend or a teacher to cut their hair, said guidance counselor Ms. French, who is organizing the event with the PA Key Club.
”Right now we have five volunteers, but we still have potential for more,” said Ms. French. “This year we have no adults, but every year we usually have at least one.”
Student under 18 years old need a parental signature to participate. The volunteers will have their hair cut in front of the entire school.
Any student interested in participating can see Mrs. French by Walker House.
