This years prom theme brings Paris to Pembroke

Paris will be coming to Pembroke Academy for prom on May 18. This year’s prom theme will center around France’s city of romance, and the event will be held at Alpine Grove in Hollis, N.H., from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The event is organized by the junior class, advised by math teachers Ms. Donnelly and Ms. Cunningham. Ms. Cunningham’s husband will deejay, and the menu is forthcoming.

While the theme is designed to give the night focus, some students believe it is not central to the evening.

“Prom is not about the theme, it’s about who you spend the dance with,” said junior Nadia Kozinski.

For other students, the dancing makes the night special.

“I love dancing, so prom will be fun,” junior Kayla Rondeau said.

Some students are not enthusiastic by the choice of theme.

“It is an unoriginal cliche, and way too far away,” said junior Melanie McNally.

Senior Madison Dwyer said she has been to three proms, and while she is not planning on going to this year’s dance, she encourages others to attend.

“It’s an overall good experience that everyone should have at least once,” she said.
