The PA Players’ production of “Legally Blonde” was an absolute joy to watch unfold on the grand stage.

“Legally Blonde” follows a girl named Elle Woods (Emma Daley) who is attending UCLA and in a happy relationship with her boyfriend Warner Huntington III (Carlos Conde). Warner then tells Elle that he wants to marry someone more serious and goes off to attend Harvard Law School.

Elle decides to follow her “true love” and studies hard to be accepted into Harvard as well. Alas, when Elle arrives Warner is dating someone new, a “Vanderbilt” girl by the name of Vivian Kensington (Lillian Graham).

Elle earns good grades and is chosen as an intern for Professor Callahan (Jonah Reycroft) along with Warner, Vivian, and Enid Hoopes (Madeline Manchester).

The interns take a court case as the legal team for Brooke Windham (Jessica Boyajian), who supposedly murdered her husband.

The performance was great, which is to be expected from the PA Players, who have done many other productions such as “Bye Bye Birdie”, “The Crucible” and “Little Shop of Horrors”.

Nary an issue was able to be located, the only major fault was that the microphones gave some grating feedback into the speakers. This brought mild discomfort to the theater patrons but didn’t ruin the show. The players’ performances overshadowed the technical difficulties.

In addition, Ms. Parkinson’s directing shined behind the scenes, and Mrs. Braggins made the music hop, each song carefully directed by her so make sure they elicited the right image.

For example, “Gay or European”, a song known beyond just the simplistic school production for its over-exaggerated portrayals of LGBT and European stereotypes, was a key part in the success of the play. Some individuals came to the play for that song alone.

Overall, “Legally Blonde” was another great production to add to the list of successes by The PA Players.
