Pembroke Academy is selling commemorative bricks to celebrate the school’s bicentennial. These bricks will construct a wall behind the Spartan statue at the front entrance of the school and will cost $50 per brick.

The decision to sell bricks came from the Bicentennial Committee and is a way to celebrate the school’s 200-year milestone, according to director of curriculum Mr. Morris.

The bricks will be engraved with the name of the person who purchased it along with a customized message. The bricks will be on display behind the Spartan statue in front of the school.

The idea is designed to commemorate the school’s rich history.

“Polar Engraving [the company engraving the bricks] was a fundraising solution we explored at TRS a few years ago,” said Mr. Morris in an email. “We felt that it would be a helpful way for Pembroke Academy community members to support the cause and have their names and the names of their loved ones be part of our campus.”

According to the PA website, proceeds from the bricks will go to installing a Pembroke Academy Performing Arts Hall of Fame across from the entrance to the auditorium and an Athletics Hall of Fame in the gym lobby.

Both projects are set for the spring of 2019.

“Our intention is to have our inaugural class for each of these halls of fame inducted around the time of our graduation festivities this year,” said Mr. Morris.
