After more than two decades working as both a teacher and an administrator at PA, director of curriculum Ms. Parkinson will be moving upstairs to the school administrative office above Blanchard House to become the new Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for SAU 53 .

While the position that she accepted involves many of the same responsibilities she currently has at PA  only, she will oversee all the K-12 schools in the district, which serves the towns of Pembroke, Allenstown, Chichester and Epsom.

“I have always been raised to do the most good wherever you could, and I believe I will be able to help more people through this opportunity,” said Ms. Parkinson.

Ms. Parkinson began the application in December and said that she is happy about the new opportunity, but is saddened about leaving P.A. “I’ll definitely miss being around PA,” she said. “I’ll miss my colleagues and the friendships that I had with them.”

And her colleagues reciprocated these ambivalent feelings. “It will be a big loss to this school, but it’s definitely a proud moment for us as well,” said Dr. Morris.

The front office secretary Mrs. Berube said she is also sorry to see Ms. Parkinson leave. “She helps out a lot with my job,” she said. “But I’m also glad for her. I’m sure she’ll do great things upstairs.”
