Fall production of ‘The Dinosaur Musical” now extinct

After two years without a musical or play due to Covid-19 concerns, The PA Players’ fall musical “The Dinosaur Musical” was canceled.

According to stage manager Eli Boucher, the play was canceled due to “lack of interest from the cast.”

“We may try to plan a different show to take place in the winter or spring,” said Boucher.

Some members of the PA Players believe “The Dinosaur Musical” was the wrong play at the wrong time.

This musical takes place at the end of the Cretaceous Period. The dinosaurs have signed a “Treaty of Meat,” which constitutes peace between meat and plant-eater dinosaurs, but when King dies and his son Quincy rises in power, chaos breaks loose.

“It got canceled because it wasn’t good for our school,” said junior Caspian Watts, a cast member.

Junior stagehand Anevay Stauffacher believes the play was not age-appropriate for a high school production.

“I think that the play was a little immature for high schoolers,” she said. “As teens, we want to be seen as adults and people who are able to act like adults, and a play about dinosaurs diminishes that feeling.”
