PA’s sophomore class will host a Harvest Dance on Nov. 19 from from 7- 10 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

The tickets started selling during lunches for $8 on Nov. 2. They will also be sold at the door for $10. Tickets are $15 for couples.

Masks will be required.

This year the sophomore class will name “class royals” at the dance with two students from each class appointed to the court: the seniors are  “monarchs,” juniors “knights,” sophomores “barons” and the freshmen are “earls,” respectively.

Couples can enter the running for $2 dollars, and students from their grade will vote for the winning royals. These couples do not have to be in a relationship or gender-specific. Any two people can run.

Sophomore class president Jake Demers wrote in a Class of 2024 post that the titles are “neutral to any gender/pronoun classification.”

The Harvest Dance is a fundraiser for the sophomore class, replacing The Homecoming Dance, which is typically held at the end of Homecoming Week.

“We chose the terms ‘Harvest Dance’ seeing it is around Thanksgiving, and our advisory team thought a new twist would be great,” said Demers.

For many underclassmen, The Harvest Dance will be their first school dance at PA.

“I’m looking forward to my first high school dance. It’ll be fun, and I think its going to be a good time for everyone,” said sophomore Hannah Pepper.
