National Honor Society (NHS) launched their annual Toys for Tots drive, led by senior members Lauren Lehoullier and Gwen Collins.

The Toys for Tots fundraiser began at PA as a way to give back to the community. They collect packaged toys then donate them to families in need of Christmas presents.

“We are looking for any type of packaged toys like cars, trucks or board games,” said senior Nate Carter, a member of NHS. “We donate the stuff to a place so that kids in need can get them for Christmas.”

The drive brings together the school community for a good cause and allows parents who are struggling financially to give Christmas presents to their children.

The gifts are donated by students and staff then NHS gives them to the Toys for Tots drive in Concord.

NHS also organized a student-teacher basketball game where they collected donations at the door of the gym. The teachers won the game 58-54.

“It was great to be out there. It’s always a great time playing against the students and helping out NHS,” said gym teacher Mr. Wilk.

Additionally, The Hero Club asked for students and staff to wear blue clothing to support an anti-bullying initiative.

NHS raised $250 and collected numerous toys for the organization.
