PA prepares for 2020 Winter Carnival

Perhaps one of PA’s richest traditions is the annual Winter Carnival in February. Every year, students and staff alike anticipate the hallway decorations, the competitions in the gym and the friendly rivalries.

With six days until the festivities begin, the Student Senate, class officers and volunteers are working hard to pull off yet another successful Winter Carnival.

This year’s theme is superheroes with senior class represented by The Hulk, the juniors by Captain America, the sophomores with Spiderman and the freshman by Wolverine.

Every year there is the issue of theme disagreement.

“Any junior I talked to seemed to want planets [as the theme],” said a junior who preferred not to be named.

This year, the theme was decided through an on-line poll. The decision is based mostly on popular vote but also around practicality, said senior Lauren Lehoullier, the Student Senate vice president.

“I like the theme. I’m a huge Marvel fan,” says senior secretary Kaylea Platt.

Overall, this year’s Winter Carnival is highly-anticipated as the student body gears up for a week of festivities.
