Commuters continue to congest the parking lot

For some students in sending towns, they leave the house between 6:30 and 7 a.m. in order to make it on-time to school.

This school year, with the half-circle by the front entrance blocked off, commuter traffic has been an ongoing issue, congesting the parking lot in the morning.

While Chichester is the only town in SAU 53 that provides bus rides for students going to PA, students from Pembroke, Allenstown and Epsom need to find their own transportation.

“I leave my house around 7:20 a.m. and I always run into traffic and just barely make it to school on time,” said sophomore Emily Polsin.

Polsin said, however, she was against the idea of buses because of personal reasons. “I’m just not a big fan,” she said. “I would rather have more time [to get ready] rather than catch an early bus.”

Senior Julia Gage disagrees.

“I think that buses should be provided by the towns that don’t have them,” said Gage. “That way people have a source of transportation if students can’t get a ride from a family member or a friend.”

For students who live five minutes down the street, it could take as long as 15 minutes to get to school due to the traffic.
